Telemedicine & Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC)
Modules (Basic):
Basic Review of Endotracheal Intubation for Providers at a Mass
Casualty (module 1)
Dr. Ben Boedeker, Dr. Bosseau Murray
Airway management is at the core of care for the injured patient
during a mass casualty event. The review is intended to provide a basic overview
of orotracheal intubation to support mass casualty airway care. This review is tailored for
perioperative care of such patients.
Supraglottic Airway Management (under development) (module 2)
Dr. Ben Boedeker
Modules (Advanced):
Complications of Managing the Airway (module 3)
Dr. Carin Hagberg, Dr. Rainer Georgi, Dr. Claude Krier
The inability to secure the airway, with
consequent failure of oxygenation and ventilation, is a
life threatening complication. To minimize injury to the
patient, the anesthesiologist should examine the patient’s
airway carefully, identify any potential problems, devise a plan
that involves the least risk for injury, and have a back-up plan
immediately available.
Pediatric Airway Management (under development) (module 4)
Dr. David Roccaforte, Dr. Wanda Chin
The Airway in Trauma (under development) (module 5)
Dr. David Roccaforte, Dr. Mark Espina
OB Airway Management (under development) (module 6)
Dr. Huiling Pang
Review of airway anatomy (under development) (module 7)
Dr. Michael Murray
Medical conditions affecting the airway (under development) (module 8)
Dr. Bonnie Tomkins, Dr. Navdeep Nijher
Surgical Airway Techniques (under development) (module 9)
Dr. David Roccaforte et al
Extubation of the difficult airway patient (under development) (module 10)
Dr. David Roccaforte, Dr. Daniel Menendez
Evaluation of the difficult airway (under development) (module 11)
Dr. Ben Boedeker
The American
Society of Anesthesiologists' Management of the Difficult Airway Algorithm and Explanation
- Analysis of the Algorithm (under development) (module 12)
